Prof. Richard Dawkins, everyone's favourite skeptic, looks into Homeopathy and what exactly it is...

Pretty interesting stuff and a hot topic in the UK right now as the NHS are investing quite a bit of tax-payers money into it. What do you all think? Is it really a new form of science that goes beyond the natural laws of the world? Or simply pseudo science? Given the option, would take a homeopathic treatment over a regular, proven one?

The old question...how can it work when theres nothing in it.

Its just water.

and its not new, its been around for over 200 years.

I have a lot of trouble trying to explain over a computer screen how it works.

Its a vibrational/energetic medicine that works on the basis of "like cures like".....(which is what HOMOEO means) HOMO means the same...HOMOEO means like..
It works on the premise that water has memory....which is why it hasnt yet been "proven" scientifically.

Would I choose it over conventional medicine...I have and do....and I have had LOTS of success in my treatments. I'm not stupid though, and discount allopathic treatment, theres a time and place for everything.

ah yes...the old placebo effect....but it works just as well, if not BETTER on babies and animals....theres no fooling them.

My main business is treating dogs believe it or not.

One thing that did shock me in that vid...its not regulated over there.:eek


Here you HAVE to do a four year full time course including medical sciences and pharmacology at Uni, and over 500 clinic hours.

Your first aid certificate HAS to be up to date too.

oh...and I only just gave my boy the Rhus Tox( poison Ivy) last week when he had Chicken Pox....it stops the itch and restlesness that comes with it....and I can assure you...a 6 y.o isnt going to say he's better when he's not.

I hate homeopathy and it's supporters. Good, that's clear enough then.
I don't want to tar all morons with the same brush, but it saves on time and idiot paint. There is nothing in it beyond placebo.

Now, I haven't read any replies thus far, so I must only apologise in advance if I have offended anyone. I am unwilling to listen to any anecdotal evidence you might have either though, as anecdotal evidence is a contradiction in terms

WOW....hate is such a strong word. I'm sorry you HATE me....but if your gonna HATE someone/thing just coz you personally dont believe in it...then....your not worth being liked by:dunno
