I've been noticing that Hollywood is making a lot of movies or tv shows based on literature as of late.

Do you think Hollywood is running out of ideas when it comes to making new movies or tv shows? Or do you think they are just cashing in on some of the more popular literature that has come out recently?

In some ways, yes. There’s a lot of sequels, reboots, and franchises because studios see them as safer bets financially. That can make it feel like originality is scarce. But there’s still fresh, creative work coming from indie filmmakers and streaming platforms that doesn’t get as much attention.

Hollywood is running our of ideas but it is not because of adaptation of literature, it is due to remakes and video game adaptations. When literature is adapted, it still requires movie makers to use creativity, remakes and video game adaptations are just copies

Unfortunately the way they see things is that if the original worked well then why not do a sequel or remake. A lot of directors lack any real desire to make movies anymore.

I think this is a generalized statement. They do make original movies but the ones that get most attention are remakes and franchise
