should i take the a+ cert exam? and get over with it, and put something worthwhile on my resume?

it costs 158 bucks, plus a testing center fee, which my local college is a testing center - so, i dont have to travel half the usa to take the test...

it would let me be a computer junkie, for money! :cool

id have to get a job for a few months, then get my cert...

if you are confident that you know enough to take it and pass it, then I would say definitely go for it.

Having worked at a IT company that's name I'll rather not mention, it's something that they look for, whereas the MCSE they say "come back when you're qualified". A+ is a must have in this industry. It's a small exam that counts for a lot - you'll be glad you did ;)

Hmm well I've heard the opposite nightflight. The A+ is much less complex than the MCSE...It doesn't hurt to have it on your resume but don't go out expecting to land a job with that alone. I'd say go for an MCSE cert.

For each person I suppose it's a different experience. Definitely don't expect to find work just with the A+, but it's still a very necessary. The top software company worldwide sees the A+ as minimum requirement, the MCSE doesn't count towards finding work there.
I suppose it all depends on where one wants to work I guess. ;) Perhaps going to the company where one wants to work and finding out what they think in terms of what qualifications are necessary is a good directional step, as that would streamline the job-finding?

haha... nawh. i understood what nightflight said. and im going to go around tomorrow to a couple computer places, and find out what is needed to do what i want to do..

assemble and upgrade, breakdown and whatnot, computer systems.

i mean hell, the only major issue is troubleshooting.. - if a new component, replacing the one in question doesnt fix it, look at another related component. or, microsoft's programmers suck. lol..

nawh, most problems are quite easy to fix.
