Help with email

I guess this should technically go in literature, but I was hoping I could get more replies in general.

I am looking into going into the Marine Corps and talked to the OSO who is in charge of my area. For a while, I lost my interest, and told him I would contact him when I was interested again. I feel really awkward about emailing him and was hoping maybe someone could give me some insight. This is the email I typed, and I just wanted to make sure I said everything I needed to say without over saying anything. Short, sweet and to the point, right? Any advice?

I have decided that I definitely want to join the Marine Corps. I am very interested in meeting with you to discuss the options that I may or may not have available to me. If you could please email me with a time that is convenient for you, I would greatly appreciate. Just to let you know, I am going out of town this weekend to attend my brother's graduation and will not be returning until late Sunday.

If you need any information from me, I will still be available by phone over the weekend. My number is xxxxxxxxx.
