Yep. I purchased yet another gun.

Don't worry, I gave my 40ve to my buddy until he can get another self protection gun. Then I'm going to try to sell it. Coincidently I have a Smith and Wesson Sigma Series 40VE handgun for sale for $300 if anyone is interested. I purchased it in March of 08 and have only put 300 rounds through it, and cleaned it after each of my 3 range visits with it. It comes with a full case, all the paperwork and two magazines.

Anywho, onto the HK USP 45. I bought it used.

My favorite feature of this gun: THE SAFETY SWITCH! YAAAAAAAAY! My second favorite feature: It's a freaking Heckler and Koch! A company with reputation beyond repute. This is quite the handgun.

Onto my targets.

This gun is actually sighted properly... look at the grouping. I could never get this outta my 40ve.

Yeah this 45 has some stopping power. The RANGE AMMO, no less, ripped that big of a hole in the head. Then my brother and I started to shoot at the little guy in the top left corner. First shot I said "let me see if I can hit him". BAM. Right in the neck. LOL

So yeah, now I own two handguns. I hope to drop that down to one when I can get the 40VE sold, but Smith and Wesson built a shitton of them and flooded the market with them, my dealer wanted to only give me 150 trade in and I declined.

hows the recoil on that?
i typically wont buy a polymer framed gun in anything over 9mm because its too damn hard to get a reasonable follow up shot off. ive never shot the hk, but ive shot .45 glocks and damn the recoil was obnoxious. you should look into a 1911. i own a rock island armory 1911. i picked it up brand new for $300. people talk shit about them saying that theyre absolute garbage, which is complete bs. the rock islands are fuckig awesome guns. straight GI, no bells and whistles. for another $200 you can replace all the internals with wilson combat parts and have one fine shooter for $500... HUNDREDS less than what you would pay for a colt, sw, kimber, etc... yeah... just givin u some info :D

A 1911 for 300? When I looked at them, they were 800-1100. This gun was considerably cheaper. I'd take one, but I really don't have a need for it, as I'm trying to sell my 40 now. I might try to pick up a Comanche .38 special 6 shooter revolver for the fun of it as I've found them for 225.

I bought it used so it's fairly broken in and feels great. The recoil is minimal due to it's larger size. HK built the USP series in direct competition to Glock, so I imagine they're considerably the same. When my laser arrives I'm going to do a true center target grouping practice round. with those targets I was just doing headshots and aiming at different areas to compare the accuracy of the HK to my SW Sigma 40ve.

The Glock doesn't even compare to the H&K, not by a mile.

And that is a solid chassis pistol, and offers very very good re-coil reduction, making "follow up shots" to not be an issue.

There's a reason it was chosen as the USCOM pistol of choice;)

Well i can't say, because I've never fired a Glock, but I know they were built to compete directly with each other. I'll take your word for it, as you've fired a Glock... and I have no plans to buy a Glock.

Don't gemme wrong, the Glock was well thought out, no hammers to snag on, also no real safety:p

And no de-cocking mechanism, which is why I personally don't like them, they are well balanced "clip in" and fire well and can take a myriad of abusive actions due to the lack of gadgetry, but at the end of the day, if that H&K doesn't give you wood, then you just fail:D

That's nice. I just bought one of these yesterday...

There was a guy in a dark alley behind the Costco selling it and I couldn't resist.

im telling u dude, look into them. theyre DAMN GOOD guns for that price. you would be surprised!!! mine is completely stock except i bought a couple wilson mags. the mags that come with the guns are pretty crappy and i was getting a lot of FTFs. then i bought the wilson mags and that cleared the problem up. goes bang every time i pull the trigger. theyre made by ARMSCOR. the ARMSCOR "brand" (same as the RIA) are the same price but you can buy one with more bells and whistles. check them out on gunbroker.com.

The only problem with the knock offs is trying to find parts when they break......and they will
