If you believe in heaven, how can you enjoy it when there's family members, friends and other loved ones not joining you in heaven? After you die... do you not care about the well being or welfare of others who are in a path to hell...

Hence the need for proselytizing or evangelizing to convince loved ones and friends to repent and join the church.

However, I follow the edict set forth by Groucho Marx: 'I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member." :)

But they'd never want to join the church, they don't want any part of it... can you really enjoy what heaven has to offer knowing they're burning for all eternity... do you forget them and stop loving them?

I'm not one to really answer those questions. I don't believe in "heaven" perse. Certainly not the one you are asking about. One should live a good life for the pleasure of living it, not to "earn" their way into an afterlife we only know of from a book written by men who didn't have any first hand experience.

I better just hush now. I respect the beliefs of others, I just don't share them.

I don't know if there's a heaven or a hell per se. I mean some may say that Hell is what we're living now, and heaven is where we go when we die but it's a reward for enduring it so to speak. Others would argue that both do exist as seperate entities after Earth for being good and bad.

But how far do you want to go? I mean if a guy who has been good all his life murders someone aged 89 and dies the next day....where does he go? As although he has lived a good life, sinless, he has then spoiled that by murdeing someone. Where does he go in other words (if again you believe the school of thought that both exist.

I personally feel that we go somewhere after life, or i'd like to because the thought of just....ceasing to competely exist as anythnig is scary. What that is I'm not sure. I don't think anyone can ever be truly sure.

I'm pretty sure a lot of Christians believe that good works in life isn't a ticket to heaven but you have to be born again in the spirit. How can one be so confident that they're going to heaven no matter what religious backround you're in...

Off topic for a sec. I just thought of a good play on words for inviting someone to lecture you on religion. "Have a God say".....Get it? Huh, huh, huh?

Also one more thing.... if your not evangelistic, don't approach loved ones, are you to blame for them being in hell while you enjoy heaven or do you both go to hell?

Anie, it's all up to what you want to believe. The bible is a fable, it's a couple thousand years old in a 60million year old earth history. Believe what's in your heart, what makes sense, not what others preach. I believe in neither heaven or hell, but am I right, who knows.

I'm a Christian myself but it doesn't stop me from asking questions all the time. Also I know the answer to a few of them, just want to see another's take on it...

Regarding the OP, first off you'd have to believe in both heaven and hell as described in the Bible. They are not inclusive or exclusive of each other or even accurately described. I can't say and see no reason to commit to any particular post death destination. :)

Most don't like to answer the type of questions that deal with life after death, no worries... the bible describes what both realms are, yet there is one chapter in revelations about what heaven is like and several about hell... I find that amusing to me.

Also I'm not imposing by beliefs on you and I apologize if you felt that way, there is no fault or judgement on any answer since I, myself believe that your spirituality is personal and up to the individual. I like to challenge thoughts, beliefs and philosophy with questions.... that's how I love to debate, rather than to impose on someone... I rather let them have thought.

Anyway I'm off to work...
