For about the last 3-4 days straight I have been getting this killer heartburn, it almost feels like someone is pouring acid down my throat. It hurts worse than heartburn I got when I was prenant! :willy_nilly:
And all Ive eaten today is a sausage biscuit and a yogurt!

Ive been taking some TUMS and they seem to kick in right away but then it comes right back after a little while. I picked me up some Zantac earlier, Im gonna start taking those first thing in the morning and see if that helps.

Thrawn didn't believe me until we were at a hotel in Atlanta and his heartburn kicke din at 3am and we were too drunk to go drive and find something .. we ordered a peeled raw potato from room service .. and he was better about 30 minutes later.

He drinks baking soda and water ALL the time .. it's a temp fix, but it works .. and it's better (imo) than constantly taking medications.

Zantac is one of the best heartburn meds out there... It takes 24 hours to kick in so you will need something else to take in the mean time.

My doctor doesn't like just handing out pills, but with these he said that they are one of the most side effect free meds out there. Maybe that's why it went OTC so fast. Basically it stops the production of stomach acid and gives your esophagus time to heal on it's own.

theres a pill you can get your doctor to persrib. for you
it works wonders for me.
i tryed zanteac , and some other over the conter ones , they dont work.

the pills are PROTONIX 40 MG. ther 3 bucks a pill, but you only need one.every time you got h/b.

contact your doctor . and tell him about them. that you need some.

perhaps you have reflux then, kinda different than heart burn.

Also, if you ar eprone to heartburn .. sausage .. not a good idea.

I'm same Amy.

I get it every single day (if I forget to take my capsules) and have done for a long time now.

Don't know if you remember some months back now, me posting about this before, but in the end the heartburn rememdies you can buy from the shelves wasn't doing me any good at all.

I had to see the doc in end, who prescribed me some capsules. They do work, but as I say, if I forget then it's hellish.

I know how you feel - in my case, being a bit overweight isn't helping either - I also had it bad in pregnancy, right up until I was 8 months gone.

If shop remedies don't work, seek med advice from your doc or a doc at your hospital.

Hmmm then I would then suggest Mylanta. This helped me with the exact same problem. Works great. Only problem is, it tastes like crap :yuk

i have to take prilosec(otc nexium), protonix, aciphex or something of the ilk or i get heartburn so bad i puke.

i dont take them everyday so when i feel heartburn coming on i take a pill and drink baking soda and water until the pill kicks in, like src said.

it definitely hurts.
