Janie already stated in her first post that it could take quite a while to get a response...reason #1, IMO.

So that is a good excuse to go after someone that looks as dangerous as that guy ? Because he stole a lawn mower you should follow him ? Give me a break. You would risk your life over that. Fuck that. He can have the lawn mower. I will call the cops. Let the cops deal with it.

Agreed 110%

But what happens if he comes into your home and you surprise him by accident? What happens if he comes into your home and he decides for whatever reason that he doesn't want you around to perhaps testify against him if he gets caught? Yes, by all means, if there is an intruder in your home, call the police. However, how long do you think it will take the police to get to your home? I would wager $100 that if you call the police and tell them that someone has been shot they will get to your home faster than if you tell them that someone has broken into your home and you're still inside the home LOL (I'm not advocating shooting someone if you're life isn't immediate danger, but the cops are just like people, creatures of habits and sometimes their response time varies depending on the call LOL). Always remember this, if you rely upon others for the defense of your life, don't blame them if their actions don't meet with your own satisfaction.

To the original topic leaving your home, I would wager that if someone left their home with a weapon to follow someone that they think may be steeling something, and for whatever reason during their encounter with the "thief" the homeowner who has the weapon (and left their home) ends up using the weapon in the defense of their life, may have a VERY long and VERY expensive legal battle that was no where worth the item that was supposedly being stolen.

Offtopic, but did you **** that out or did the forum do it??? Just checking b/c we don't normally filter and I want to get it fixed if the forum did it on it's own. ;)

I did it myself. Every once in a while I remember what my mother taught me.

LMFAO...wow, you picked ONE sentence and completely misconstrued what I said. I said it was reason #1 to have a gun. I ***never*** said it was a reason to go after someone. I have said probably 18 dozen times in this thread and other threads DO NOT INTERVENE, DO NOT FOLLOW, CALL 911!!! At least try reading my posts before screwing up what you THINK my views are. I spend 12 hours a day telling people "don't follow them, let the police handle it"...and if you had read more than 1 sentence that I posted, you would know that.

let's just hope he doesn't come looking for you later for ratting him out to the cops....
That was my first thought. That the guy could either have an eye out for her car or got the license number

As to comment about being armed. Nothing wrong with that but one better be willing to use it and not just flash it and better be able to justify the use
