i think blu-ray is gonna come out on top cuz all PS3's are coming with built in blu-ray players.

But we all know that one must be more prominant than the other. this is a similar case to what happened with BETA tapes vs. VHS tapes.

I love my Blu-Ray.

The only major studio still doing HD-DVD is Universal. They were supposed to switch to Blu-Ray but changed their minds...

Altho there's no great rush for it right now due to the availability of Blu-Ray movies etc I can see Blu-Ray as evolving as the forerunner. From what I understand the quality is stellar. Also as time goes by the prices of player and discs will also drop to more affordable.

Sony's made a good move to incorporate Blu-Ray into their PS3 players so that's going to have a major affect. Also from what I understand they have made a deal of sorts with the porn industry with regard to their movies being output in Blu-Ray. That's a good move too as the porn industry is a major player in the industry.

The biggest edge for Blu-Ray, I think, is that Sony makes movies. They'll never switch, so they can always guarantee that a lot of movies will be on Blu-Ray.

Microsoft (main HD-DVD backer), doesn't make movies.
