Here's a question to be tacked onto your statement:

Which one is worth buying at this point, if you could only get one? I'm not made of money, but I would like to get one of them. But I guess this is like back in the 80's when people were asking "Which one, Beta or VHS?"

Or is blu ray going to be another mini compact disc thing??? LOL Alot of my friends bought into that and it just fizzled out.

true...but that was about the time that the .mp3 format was being introduced...sound quality was crap there for a while, but then you were able to rip at higher bit rates. Blu-Ray, huh? Why, because Sony's backing it? I figured HD-DVD might win out because of Panasonic's new-found popularity.
