Having flashbacks of what happened last night

So Im at work last night and we are boomin as always. Im working out front at the triage area by the waiting room and this lady comes up to me and asks if I have a key to the mens bathroom. I asked her why and she says her husband has been in the bathroom for almost an hour and she cant get him to answer her when she knocks on the door.
So I get ahold of housekeeping, whom has the keys to the bathrooms, and I go unlock the door and crack it open and he is sitting there on the toilet dead, his cell phone laying on the ground!
The man wasnt even a pt. He was visiting family up in ICU and was coming to the ER parking lot to leave and stopped to use the restroom. he was only 44 yrs old and I cant quit thinking about this. Its really got me bothered.

omg thats horrible. Lately we have had alot of younger people (40-50 yoa) go code blue on us. Its horrible to think they had such a short life.

Do you know what the cause of death was? I went with my girlfriend to Germany a couple of months ago when she got laser eye surgery and I heard someone at the hospital talking about a guy who was in his early 30's that had recently died. There were quite a few cases of Meningitis going around and apparently he had gotten it and didn't even know it. Sad.

that would be in image I couldn't easily get out of my head now either...makes me think why he had his cell out...like was he talking to somebody...trying to call somebody...interesting in my opinion....sorry you have to have that image there now mrs b.

I heard someone say that he probably had a "vasovagal" episode. I was told that means that when you sit down to go poop, your heart rate always slows down (which I never knew that) and that his heart rate must have slowed down really slow the harder he pushed and when your heart rate gets real slow, you start losing oxygen to your brain. So apparently that what happened to him and his head just slumped over when he lost so much oxygen and it killed him.
