I slept on this show the first few years, but I've been trying to watch it more closely this season. It's a great show overall, though some episodes drag on like a soap opera as last night's did. However the week before, in contrast, was off the hook with mayhem and action.
In particular, I'm curious what people think of the return of The Governor. Personally, I don't like his character. He seems like such a text book narcissistic villain that the writers want us to have this love/hate relationship with. I just flat out hate him - he's nuts, he's vain, and he's full of himself. I think he cheapens the show somewhat as well, and the goofy eye patch just makes him look even more ridiculous. I mean, give him a sword and a cape while we're at it, why don't ya? He takes up too much air time and slows down the show with all his personal drama.
To make things even more corny, on last nights episode, OF COURSE one of the women has to make out with him by the end of the episode. They just met him for crying out loud! Not to mention their father just died, and he bashed his head in with an oxygen tank right in front of them. What is this, Passions or The Walking Dead?
I am interested to see what happens with Carol though, and what goes down when Rick breaks it to the rest of the group about what she did.
