What do the rest of you guys feel about this nomination?

I don't think that Bush put any thought into this nomination at all. He was probably sitting at his desk thinking of all the work it was going to take to find a qualified cannidate when in walks Harriet Miers, Bam! problem solved, off to the ranch for much needed rest.

Hell, Judge Judy Brown is more qualified than this wench. I don't know, maybe I'm just picky when it comes to the highest court in the Nation, but I would prefer a supreme justice to have had some bench time before getting the job. But that's just me. :dunno

I found this to be a good read http://musementpark.blogspot.com/2005/10/harriets-field-of-nightmares.html

I'm thinking there was a method to his madness.

Hairy Reed recomended her, probably as a joke or side thought. So by using her, you've neutralized the minority leader right from the beginning. What's he going to say? I recomended her even though she sucks. LOL

Next, he (The President) has known her for years and years. I have no doubt she would have been a reliably concervative voice on the bench, who would have truly been a constructionist. Screw getting law from around the world. Our country kicks the most ass for a reason.

Nobodies record is completely clean. No matter who you are, somebody knows something about you. But by choosing a realitive unknown, there is only so much dirt they can sling.

I just wish the entire nomination didn't revolve around Roe vs. Wade. It's such a small part of our collective, and yet it's all anybody wants to know about. Who the flawk cares what her personal beliefes are on that single thing? Let's get onto something of national importance here.
