Haircutting at home is child abuse?

A friend of mine posted a photo of her Grandson, and commented that his Dad cut off all of his hair.

Several comments later she exclaimed that "Haircutting at home by parents is child abuse, and needs to stop!!!!"

Am I off my rocker or is she bat shit crazy?

I have cut my sons hair at one point too...

My grandmother used to cut mine for me....

I even cut my hubby's when he can't be bothered to go to the barber...

My son had his 1st haircut at 2 months old (yes he had that much hair) by my mother in law at her house when he stayed and had been getting it cut by her till about 2yrs ago. I had been taking him to get it cut paying 20 (15 plus tip) then i bought clippers to start cutting hubby's hair and i now cut both their hair

Punishment!?!? Hahaha. Now theres one type of punishment i enjoy cause when i go to get my hair done, it feels amazing to have someone play with it!

The only bad cut I ever got at home that counted as a long term punishment was when I got tired of my bangs and cut them all off.

Just guessing here, but if she's a grandma....and her son is say....40ish....then back in "our day"...it WAS punishment....guys (for the most part) wanted long hair....and a "bowl cut" from mum was the ultimate punishment.
I still remember bawling my eyes out when mum gave me a "shag" hair cut (whats known nowadays as the "Carol Brady" or a "mullet)

Not as a punishment but just because I'm awfully cheap and I don't want to spend money at a hairdressers when I can just do it myself.
