After searching and searching, my mom finally called me from her work (she's an RN) and said she could get just a couple family members shots. So she got my son and I one for the 30th...and the best part? It's free. I'm soooo happy. :)

Swine flu

Maybe my mom will get us 3 kids a shot each if there's someplace where it would be free...otherwise no shots for us

Ohhh okay!!

Sorry, nwo that you've said that, I know lol..

I was thinking it was code for something else like a camera shot or something..

I'm planning on getting Dean and I to have one.. It's free for those who are guardians of children

really? hmmm well Mom doesn't want to give us a shot anyways......we never had a regular flu shot.....but even though I don't get sick often I think I still have to. especially for me and my brothers. I'll try to persuade her. Maybe telling her it's free will help.

another question....does it hurt a lot? afterwards? I don't mean getting the shot, because I am not scared of it. also, don't some people get it on their nose or something? I hope if I get one, it's on my arm

I had a shot in my upper arm. A little while later it felt like someone had slugged me. Other than that.... it wasn't that bad at all.

The nasal vaccine is what healthy people are getting.... Not those with health issues though.

Find the web site for your health department and read all about the vaccine.

ALL H1N1 shots are FREE (Paid for by the US taxpayer) and I can get one, but won't so tell 'em you want Jim's shot since he is tougher than any goddamn swine flu.

When I went, they asked for insurance information. They will try to recoup what they can from the insurance companies who are willing to pay based on policy choices. My seasonal flu shot was paid for by my insurance due to my being Diabetic. So... I'm sure they'll pay for this too.

You must have gotten yours before this last load. It's free. I had my regular flu shot, FREE because I spent a long time getting to age 65 and medicare, but the h1n1 is considered a potential pandemic and it's FREE.

Nope. The health department stated it was absolutely free... but if you had insurance.... they wanted to at least try to get something from that source. If your insurance denies the claim... no worries. Free.

i was told that if insurance didn't cover it, it was around $20 around here. B/c I know that my son would be covered, we were told by the insurance company. and if he wasn't it didn't matter we would pay whatever.

My boys nor I will be getting this shot. We aren't at any real risk to the swine flu and I don't really feel like injecting something in my children that isn't really needed. If they had health issues then I'd totally do it.
