Gullible...yep. Anyone Else?

While I was at Technical College studying to be an Electrician, one of my fellow students was playing a song in his car. I asked him who it was & he told me that it was his band. I knew that he was in a band but had never heard any of his stuff & this song was excellent.

I asked him to make a copy for me, which he did & I listened to to it quite a lot until I lost the copy. Fortunately the song was stuck in my head, which was great.

The other day I was watching a rock concert by America made during the 70's & they started playing that song.

It was then that it dawned on me - for about 28 years I believed that this song by America was actually his. I had never heard it except on that tape - pretty gullible huh? The song is "Another Try".

Please tell me that I'm not the only gullible person in the world - has this ever happened to anyone else?

That's not gullible... you're just slightly ignorant for not doing any research. Your friend is a dumb ass for doing that anyway.

Maybe you're right, but listening to the same song now & hearing the level of production - the sound quality - I should have known that it was not his band.
I think the other thing is that he was probably mucking around & didn't expect me to believe him. If the song had been a bigger hit in Australia, I would have found out a long time ago.
I tend to take people on face value & without any reason not to believe someone then I probably will. Fortunately I can see a scam when it's coming so I've never been caught by one of those.

Nope. Never had it happen to me. My friends really are in bands. lol Not only do I have the pictures to prove it, but I have goofy recording sessions, CDs, videos, etc. *smiles* That reminds me...I need to get a hold of my best friend, since he'll be down this way soon...

i know a couple people in a few different bands myself, don't really talk to them anymore tho. its cool that some of them are just like everybody else, as far has how they present themselves and all you never know
