Last weekend, comedian and 'Last Comic Standing' host Greg Giraldo was hospitalized from a drug overdose of prescription pills. According to a TMZ source he passed away today at the New Brunswick, NJ hospital with his family by his side. Giraldo leaves behind three children.
Greg was born in raised in Queens, New York and graduated from Harvard Law School. He served as an associate at a New York law firm for a year before changing careers. His comedy career included two half-hour specials on 'Comedy Central Presents," appearances on 'The Late Show with David Letterman,' 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' and Comedy Central's yearly roasts roasting Chevy Chase, Pam Anderson, William Shatner, Flavor Flav, Bob Saget, Larry the Cable Guy, and David Hasslehoff. He was a season seven judge of 'Last Comic Standing,' was a regular on 'Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,' starred on the sitcom 'Common Law,' and most recently had been seen on NBC's 'The Marriage Ref.'
