For the past 10 years, our local zoo has been pumping a LOT of money into their program to rear and put gray wolves back into their environment. Just so they can be hunted again? Sigh.

The gray wolf population is killing off the deer, moose & elk and destroying some cattle herds.

I believe the plan is to offer hunters a limited season and a very restrictive limit but in the Northwest they are top of the food chain outside of man.

That's not even remotely true.

More deer, moose and elk are hunted each year by us than wolves take. So should we stop hunting deer, moose and elk then?

not long ago we had a documentary over here about the reintroduction of wolves in americas national parks, and the reasons for it

there was no natural predator of animals such as deer and moose etc,so they were breeding in enormous numbers, every bit of greenary was at risk of being eaten, trees couldn't grow and plants were being grazed to the ground, creating a pretty barren landscape....since the reintroduction animal numbers have levelled out through predation by wolves...the result is that trees are growing and the native flora is starting to thrive again....killing wolves is a very bad idea
