As some of you may know, Ive had a blown head gasket for some time now. I parked the car in December and decided to take it and get it worked on about to months ago.
I took the car to Mike Murillo (forced induction GOD) and come to find out that it wasnt a blown head gasket(s) after all. My head studs were stretched and the head lifted off the gasket. So I had made up a nice list of mods to have done. Here is what I had done...
BBK LT headers
BBK X pipe connected to the pre existing Magnaflow catback.
Fluidyne Heat exchanger
LFP Heat exchanger resevoir
SCT 2400 MAF
SCT 4 bank chip
New timing belt tensioners
For the heads, I went with stock head gaskets since they are the five layer cometic style gaskets and are pratically non destructable.
I also had the following done to the heads...
5 ange valve job
COMPLETE head rebuild
ARP 2000 12 point studs and bolts
Heads were shaved and polished.
I had a set of Kenny Brown Extreme matrix subframes with jacking rails, ladder bars, and subframes welded in! I was lucky to get my hands on a brand new set. Kenny Brown went out of business and my buddy ordered them a while back and never even opened the box.
What did the car put down you may ask? 606 and 575 on a Mustang Dynometer. It was heat soaked at that point. We could have let it cooled down with a little ice for a little longer, but they were ready to head out. I wasnt too concerned with the numbers at that point... I just wanted to get in my car and roll out! LOL Im gonna hit up the local dyno in a few days and post a new video up. He said I should make 675-700 rwhp on a Dynojet if I ice the blower and let it cool down.
The car pulls harder than ever! I got into it WOT for the first time at 400 miles after the rebuild... and it scared the piss out of me! But I can honestly say I can now shake my buddy off with the R1, instead of staying side by side with him! LOL
I GOT MY CAR BACK!!! WOOOHOOO!!!
