Come to think of it, why the hell does a political party have a .gov web page? Are we paying for their propaganda??

Oh boy, can't wait.

I'm a bit lost on who to vote for this election. I'm thinking of just voting against all the incumbents.

Does anyone else find it absolutely stunning that the author of the pledge to America is a lobbyist?

Brian Wild who has lobbied for:
AIG - $740,000
Andarko Petroleum - $800,000
Comcast - $1.1 million
Exxon Mobil - $1.3 million
Pfizer Inc. - $625,000

A pledge to America to clean up politics written by a lobbyist? :24: It just goes to show the complete audacity of the Republican party. It would have been better if they just dusted off Newt's contract on America

Ah yes when you can not attack the message resort to the tried and true attack the messenger

Who cares if it would have been written by Hitler if it is a good roadmap to stop this statist and socialistic crap the left saddled us with

Message? What message? This document has no substance at all. It doesn't go into any detail at all. It's the same talking points with nothing new at all.
Go look at the little montage John Stewart put together where it's the same ole same ole talking points.
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-september-23-2010/postcards-from-the-pledge

Nice try

You just don't like the message

Next you will probably be using the term TeaTards I expect to disparage those who want to restore fiscal sanity and save our futures.

Did you memorize the Communist Manifesto when you went to college :D

Or just the Democrat talking points :yuk :24:

Again, what message? This Pledge to America is nothing more than their tired talking points wrapped up into one document. Do you actually think this pledge will accomplish anything?
I would have a lot more respect for this pledge if it was a road map on how they plan to accomplish their goals. Something, anything... but there is nothing in it, just broad sweeping generalizations that have been parroted by the right for decades.

If I'm missing something here, please point it out. Show me where this is any different than the same ole same ole.

The message is irrelevant without the behavior to back it up, and the Repubs, just like the Dems, have shown time after time that they will say anything to get votes, then do anything to get contributions.

:homo:

And believe this to be true of both parties like you pointed out.

Oh I agree

Words are meaningless if not followed up with action

Wonder how the liberals will like being called the party of no if the republicans take control of congress:D

It reads initially like the principles of our Const. Which is all fine and well but we saw the majority of repubs sellout the Constitution wholesale.

I dont trust repubs any more than I do dems.

One of them that just kills me is the "repeal and replace" one. So they're willing to repeal the rules the dems have put in, but they're not willing to relinquish the control those rules confiscated. :cool

"13.....A PLAN TO CREATE JOBS, END ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY, AND MAKE AMERCA [sic] MORE COMPETITIVE"

It doesn't take 6 pages to type "Stop interfering in the free market and let chips fall where they may," so I know without reading that I disagree with that part of the plan. As Ronny RayGun once said, "Government isn't the solution to the problem; government is the problem."

It does when you have been the ones messing (taking handouts, bribes and look the other ways, manipulating industry in the free market) for 20 years!

But thats exactly what they need to do, is get the heck out of the way!

Knowing THEM as I do, I'm not surprised at all. ;) The Republican Party relies on the general gullibility of the American public to push their elitist pull-the-wool-over-your-eyes agenda. Their viewpoint is not good for average citizens, but are we as a group to stupid to see it? I saw a Republican Congressman trying to defend extending the tax break for the richest 2% (800 billion worth I seem to recall) as necessarily for job creation. What utter bullshit. We need a party like the Democrats who are for the people (yes they are), but has a better handle on being fiscal responsibility- fiscal responsibility with a heart.

BTW, I don't agree with the theory of trickle down. :)
