Don't be so sure. Lighter colors reflect light, meaning light bounces off of them, while darker colors absorb light, meaning it passes through more easily. Considering this, it's obvious that being white causes more drag. :D

During my running years, we've met lots of Kenyans who run marathons and 10 miles etc who almost always finish first in the said races. 1 Chicago marathon i attended where a Kenyan finished 2nd to a Japanese runner. Skin color imo, doesn't have anything to do with one's ability to run or finish first for that matter.

I have a friend who's Kenyan and he shared his story. Most Kenyans are poor. So on a daily basis, from the time they're able to carry a bucket of water- they would fetch water for taking a bath and cooking etc from a spring 2x-3x per day. Normally those Springs are miles and miles away from their homes. So on school days, they would wake up at 3-4 am, travel mountains/valleys/rough terrain to fetch water. For them not to be late for school, they run those mountains and are like trained to run as fast as the cheetahs. Hence running races like sprints/100 mile runs etc are nothing to them due to the sort of kind of training that they have had & lived everyday.
