well for the first one i was about 3 feet away,i got the pic i was after so i took the 90-300 off and put the macro on......then got in his face......so inches,2 at most for the last one

well i take the 'distance' pictures first for that exact reason.....getting really close is a bonus:nod:

well i'm my own worst critic.....but the fact that i really do enjoy photography and wildlife helps...and its educational,i google something i've never seen before

Those are amazing! I can't get that close to bugs cause I have a phobia of them.

Big old buggy eyes and stuff stickin out of them everywhere...-shudder-

Can I make a suggestion Ian.

Use your photo editor and rotate the pics 180 degrees so I don't have to stand on my head to look at 'em.
