He is over the top half the time

I used to like him but I think he is too full of himself.

He preys on peoples emotions. I might agree with a great deal of what he has to say but how he says it can be turn offish. I think the left hate him because they fear he has a following and the leftist, statist crap will get exposed for what it is.

That's exactly how I feel about Rush. He does occasionally make good points, but it gets lost in the BS.

I think too many people take him seriously, that's the danger with Beck, Rush & Hannity. They are entertainers yet people actually take them for leaders. All three are very good at what they do, like AA said, they feed off peoples emotions, and they are very good at it. They are masters of setting up the straw man for everyone to rally against and getting people to hate and fear.
I really don't care what these people call themselves, republican, conservative, liberal, progressive, etc. they are just entertainers out to make as much money as they can feeding of the ignorance and emotion of their audience. They are not meant to be taken seriously, yet too many people do and it's that fact that scares me. We have enough wacko nuts he without more being created by entertainers.

Too bad they have to use emotions to get their points across but then both sides do it. You have Keith Olbermann that is a good example on the left. Unfortunately too many people lap up this crap and do not filter out the BS

You are correct sir. The idiots know no political bounds. They come from all sides.

My belief is that the uneducated redneck republican base are ripe for the pickings, that's why you see more wacko's on the right side of the dial.

This is the same view I have of him. I think that it's good that he questions government in Washington and brings up a lot of valid points. A lot of people simply hate him because they don't agree with him and/or they aren't used to his act. I watch him once in a while and agree with some of the things he says while I also disagree with some of his points. A lot of people call him a bigot or ignorant simply because they disagree wit him, which is wrong.

On the other hand, I think that he has let his popularity get to his head. If he doesn't already, he'll probably soon start having the elitist mindset that he accuses others in the media of having.

How much did you listen to/watch his shows to come to your conclusion?

I fact-check most of what he says, generally because I'm always thinking he can't possibly be right about this. There've been a few times that he spun a small fact way too hard. I think I even pointed out one or two here at OTZ somewhere. But the lion's share of what I've checked has been spot on. The connections he makes are hard to dismiss if you keep an open mind.

I heard somewhere that Olberman called Bush a fascist. The media didn't bat an eye. Maybe because nobody was watching. I know I wasn't. I've seen two entire episodes. I forced myself to so I could at least say I tried. I didn't get it.

I think where I find fault is with some of Becks conclusions. He may have facts on his side but where he spins them is what I would find fault with. Same with Limbaugh. They might raise a point and then ruin it by where they are going with it.

Beck is just too emotional in his appeals. Too much like preaching. I do not make a point to watch him but if I come across him while channel surfing I will see what he has to say.

I don't people on the right are more gullible or less smart. I think they just are easy to get their attention when it comes to anti govt stuff. I would still be a republican if they got away from being controlled by the religious zealots. When they are consumed with family values and anti abortion it gets sickening. People don't need lecturing on family values as if the democrats have none and it is nobody elses business what a woman does with her body.
