Asus Transformer Prime has been my Favorite for a while. Though for a lower end the Samsung Galaxy Tab II (the 7 incher, not the 10.1) has been pretty solid for the price.

I have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and its been very good to me.. Got it on sale here in Canada for $299.00 for 32G which was pretty decent..

I find it pretty good and it has not crashes nor have I had any problems with it.. If I compare it to my Blackberry Playbook it has way more apps..

The Playbook is definitely more of a business device but it lacks in Apps badly.. In my opinion of owning both, the Playbook is much faster in executing apps and running smoother as well as it has a much better iOS. Too bad RIM is about to go under unless they pull a rabbit out of their ass..

I had to use the 10.1 when I was developing the mobile site for where I work. It was Honeycomb only.. which I counted as a negative in and of itself, and the browser animation support really sucked. Of course, I have no doubt that if it was running ICS, my experience would have been better... not perfect, but better.

You can get Skype for Galaxy Tab so you have an Apps as well as most Chat programs that you can Video Stream with the Video Cam..

Keep in mind that Apple just announced they plan on killing Google and will remove Google Search for Yelp as well as Google Maps for their own Maps. So expect all Google apps not to be available soon ( including Google+ ) for Apple products..

This maybe a good and bad thing.. It will either finally show how strong Google is or form a Monopoly in Apple if they succeed in killing Google as they claim they will.. Apparently it was Steve Jobs dying words that they kill Google for using a FREE based iOS..

"I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong," Jobs reportedly said. "I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this."

http://www.appleinsider.com/article...oy_google_android_called_it_a_stolen_product/

Personally I think Steve had totally lost it.. Apple iOS is based on Unix... So playing stupid and claiming someone else stole something when you yourself started your own root code based on someone else's is kinda like pot calling the kettle black..

OK I get yah.. I am looking at it from a pure hardware perspective. All have drawbacks in what you will do with them its kinda hard to pick one..

I would not dare drop this Galaxy or the Asus but shit I dropped the Playbook face down 3 times now and not a scratch on it..

That said I have 50% of my work required apps on one and 50% on the other.. Like my boss says I hate to carry twice the shit OI did when i had a 1 lbs laptop.. Plus each has it's own adapter.. :mad

In Europe they all require to have USB standard plug ins but Apple and such will get around it by making a special adapter cable they will supply only once with each tablet.. Lose it and pay $50.00 for a new adapter cable.. Sneaky turds..

Huh?

iOS is based off of OSX, which was based off of Darwin, which was built primarily from NeXTSTEP (along with Lisa and Mac), which was in turn built from POSIX and SUS Standards. It's a huge leap in logic to say that iOS was "stolen" from anyone else... NeXTSTEP was a UNIX-like OS that was certified to SUS and POSIX standards, but was actually built off of Mach, which wasn't UNIX at all; and BSD, which was a derivative of UNIX. The key component in all of that is that NeXT licensed the code in order to build their own product. But, there are multiple generations of code and standards in between OSX and the versions of Mach/BSD that NeXTSTEP was built off of. Other than OSX maintaining the *NIX standards and compatibility, it actually has more in common with Linux than it does it's mainframe based ancestors.

That being said, Jobs isn't referring so much to the base code of the product as he is the interface... things like the "slide to unlock" mechanism that Apple patented and brought to market, and then the Android dev team appropriated for their project. Microsoft did the same thing back in the 80s, taking a lot of the key ideas behind Lisa and Mac and integrating them into their Windows product. I can understand Jobs' frustration when these things were patented by Apple and then competitors came out of the woodwork and incorporated them in their own products. Pot calling the kettle black might more appropriately apply to things like Apple building out notifications in a pulldown menu in iOS 5; a concept that originated in Android, though in a slightly different format.

So basically, you used a pretty piss poor example with which to call foul on Apple. It can also be argued that the Android development team took tons of inspiration from iOS in the development of their mobile OS... as evidenced by a number of the things we saw added and changed between its original open beta release and when the first Android phones hit the market.

I'm not a computer tech kind of guy but I have an iPad and I absolutely love it. Wi Fi only though and my phone isn't going anywhere so no experience on software of that nature.

I'm guessing however if you aren't familiar with Apple products, iPad may be an up hill learning battle. I'm finding it funny how many guys have iPads for work but don't know how to download data to the device. Now that I have transferring Numbers down, I love it even more for the speed sheet applications.

Definitely look to see if the Otterbox Defender series hard case is made for the tablet of your choice. Thing is bombproof. Only drop was on a flat roof, but no problems after I picked it up.

these are all great
I'm leaning toward the Asus Transformer Infinity tf700 that is supposed to out soon
Its gonna kill my pocket book but like my phone I will be using it 24/7
What I really want is a 7-8inch tablet that has everything
superfast processor gorilla glass at least 720 front facing cam and at least 5mb rear with flash
hdmi out and sd slot and Android 4
but I have not found one with all these features in that size
I almost bought the asus tf201 last weekend and sat in the parking lot researching it one more time
and found out the gps and wifi has major flaws
