Hey guys,

I completely liebe the German language, just the whole barbarian and broad accent motivates me to learn more. :willy_nilly:

If anyone can speak even a little of German will they be kind enough to share there achievements within the subject? :eek

Can you?

Hallo Shekii,

kein Problem, ich bin Deutsche (und kann Dir perfektes Deutsch beibringen :D). Ich bin hier im OTZ-Forum, weil ich Englisch lernen möchte.

Wie viel Deutsch beherrschst Du denn schon? Hattest Du schon Deutschunterricht?

Wann immer Du Hilfe brauchst, lass es mich wissen.

Ich bin allerdings oft nur sehr unregelmäßig hier. Je nachdem, wie viel Zeit ich habe.

:)

Liebe Grüße,
die Streifenkatze

P.S.: Do you need a translation? *grins*

Yeah, Rammstein. I love their music. ^^

(But I always wonder what German sounds like in your ears. A British blogger told me that in his ears German sounds the same as Russian sounds in my ears. *lol* Like a machine gun.)

It sounds like German to me lol. Some words I can pick out because it sounds similiar to the English word or because my mum, dad and brother taught themselves some German and do speak it.

@Shekii: What is GSCE-Level? Never heard of that.

WTF? *lol* --> Ich will meine Schmuckbox um...um, äh...?

Okay, this sounds more like Dutch. *lol*
 It's called Plautdeutsch...or Low German. It's a Mennonite German dialect and I believe it has a Dutch influence. Plautdeutsch is not really a written language so I just spelled my words phonetically (how they're pronounced). I only know a few lines. :D

Eck velle shlope gonna. :D

Ah, no, not "Plautdeutsch" but "Plattdeutsch" (or "Niederdeutsch", what is the German word for "Low German")?

For those who are interested: there is even a "plattdeutsches Wikipedia" *grins*

I love Plattdeutsch, but I am not able to speak it (nor even to recognize it as we've recently noticed *lol*). My FIL speaks North Frisian which is that close to English that he managed to pass his final exam in English by talking North Frisian. *lol*

edit: Okay, my mistake. *lol* I've googled "Plautdeutsch" and figured out that it really is kind of a branch of the "Plattdeutsch". oO Weird and fascinating. *lol*

edit2: There's even a Plautdietsch-Dictionary on the Internet. oO --> http://www.mennolink.org/doc/lg/

Typical, a load of north Americans come in and bastardise a perfectly viable European language :D
