In about an hour, I'll be on my way out to our local quarter-mile dirt track for the season opener. I'm in year 2 driving tow truck after 4 years as a corner judge. I've seen several haulers coming through town and, by now, there's the rumble of engines in the pits as drivers do final inspections and tuneups. The air will be reverberating with electricity as peoples' excitement grows. I'm so ready! :clap

Have fun!!! Not my thing, but I have a lot of friends who enjoy it.

When I was a kid my dad had a friend that did drag-racing and we used to go watch him. I *did* enjoy that.

Tash, drag racin's for folks who don't know how to turn left at the end of the straightaway! . Oval dirt track racin's got plenty o' drama, once you get to know the drivers and any rivalries. Also old timers who've raced each other for years often let the young bucks pass by and race each other. I love the "old guys", fellas in their 50's. Got one modified driver who's about 61-2 who's just a nice guy. I always stop by his pit to chat when I can. He started racin' when the Dead Sea just had a tummy ache!

Drag Races I never could get excited about by the by, the lasted soooooo quickly....I mean I like to be pleasured longer....u know?

BTW drag racing is cool too just not as exciting. But damn some of the speed they get....ADRENALIN RUSH!

But yea I know for some it can be too much.
I miss the days of going to the races every weekend but damn that gets too spendy now.

I do like speed, but I don't enjoy it often so I live vicariously through others lol. I grew up in a racing family that's where I get my love for racing.
I have a Dodge Stratus, gotta have room for kids but it still has a nice look to it.
I've always been in love with the Monte Carlo SS. I will have one some day!
I got into trouble once for speed, but the officer was awesome and dropped it to only 5 over the limit so it didn't affect my record. I know speed is meant for the track so I live by that.

Dirt track drivers are a special breed. Used to live near a small track, and every Weds night throughout the Summer you could hear them screaming..
Damn I miss that beautiful noise!

Most of them are really cool guys. Got one real prima dona with a temper. I wish he'd just go away. He's got two sons racing now, one's a chip off the old block.

Sorry, Kakapo, didn't get pics, got sorta busy right off. First two heats, pushed two cars to their trailers. Bugs to be worked out. I'll try to get some and post them in the near future.
