Sit with me a second......does anyone think that possibly the left (gays for guliani) see's Guliani as the potentially biggest threat (this early) and are backing him for the sole reason to take any conservative votes away that they can (with Rudy's view on abortion and others adding gays to it would steal them all away). I think that this whole thing is a joke meant to take votes.....with all the radio and reading I do I havent heard anyone say this....I dont suspect this a unique view but does anyone have any comments??

It's possible, however, it seems like a very risky and foolhardy plan to me.

Giuliani actually has many legitimate LGBT supporters. He claims to be fiscally conservative and is socially (semi) liberal. He also supports civil unions/ domestic partnerships.

There are Republicans trying to do something similar with Hillary Clinton. They are trying to get her the nomination because they feel it will stir up the right wing activists (who all rabidly hate her) and ensure a Republican victory.

From what i understand the GFG gag is a joke. I don't think a liberal gay worth their salt would ever support a man like this that talks out of both sides of his mouth.
i mean he is the most conservative liberal republican democrat man woman to come out of NYC ,state of NY, northeast, this country...for now anyway

I understand the parody of it, but how are they going to "steal" votes from him? Either they are or they aren't going to vote for him. By watching that video, I knew that it was a parody... I knew they had no interest in voting for him.

So how is it stealing votes? :dunno

Makes ya wish the threat of queer vote woulda changed the 2000 election, huh?
A million of 'em voted for that idiot bush.

Course, then they got smart and refused to endorse him again in 2004.

This is the first election that has really focused on the LGBT vote, wonder why that is? :confused

The media is a strong tool... but it isn't that strong, otherwise Guliani wouldn't even be a serious candidate. The guys a complete joke that wouldn't even be seeing the light of day if the media was properly informing the public.

It seemed to me that bushes backing lasted longer.......at least 2 years longer than 2004. The LGBT comprises of about 7% of the vote. Its the media that focuses on that not America in my opinion.

So by this you are saying that you support Guliani?? Not that it doesnt make sense, having run into you previously.

But I think about it. Would Guliani be someone that respected the country....sure....would he defend us....yeah.....but what the hell has he actually done?? His own party doesnt recognize or even want him to run......he served our people for what....8 years as Gov for NY. How does this man qualify??

But then again....you have to respect the man for unique point of views.....Unique point of views says to me that this is a man that follows his own path not one that he thinks people want him to follow, I like that in my leaders. Im on the fence about Guliani,.

I'm not sure what it is you disagree with, but here's the press release from the Log Cabin Republicans concerning their support for bush.

(Washington, DC)—Log Cabin Republicans are withholding their endorsement from President Bush for 2004. "Log Cabin's National Board has voted to withhold a Presidential endorsement and shift our financial and political resources to defeating the radical right and supporting inclusive Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives," said Log Cabin Board Chairman William Brownson of Ohio. The Log Cabin Board of Directors voted 22 to 2 not to endorse the President's re-election.

"Certain moments in history require that a belief in fairness and equality not be sacrificed in the name of partisan politics; this is one of those moments. The national board's vote empowers Log Cabin to maintain its integrity while furthering our goal of building a more inclusive Republican Party. Log Cabin is more committed than ever to its core mission to build a stronger and more inclusive Republican Party. There is a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party, and that fight is bigger than one platform, one convention, or even one President," said Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director Patrick Guerriero.

The vote by Log Cabin's 25 member national board marks the first time since the organization opened a national office in Washington, DC in 1993 that the organization has not endorsed the Republican nominee for President. Log Cabin endorsed Bob Dole in 1996 and George W. Bush in 2000. Exit polls confirmed that over 1,000,000 gays and lesbians voted for Bush/Cheney in the 2000 election, including nearly 50,000 in Florida alone.
Log Cabin Republicans Vote to Withhold Endorsement from President Bush

And a voting block of 1,000,000 is worth media coverage and political candidates' attention.

By posting Im not inherently dissagreeing. If I searched for 5 seconds I can find something that makes me right too. Articles and videos from the media dont prove a thing because of the slant in all of it. Dont follow someone elses view....come up wit your own.

lol a voting block of a million.....those numbers come from the same slanted place the article did....that still only comprises not even a whole percent...not even a half of a whole percent of the nations voters. News....what ever, I guess its in the eye of the beholder than.

So this article here describes bush's support? Well if a tiny sect can comprise the majority opinion of the us (including its government) than I guess that idiotic senator that just said Fox news is trying to ignite a war with Iran speaks for the majority of America too. Nope...that would be ludicrous.

Common sense reps for Rooks.

btw ... I doubt very seriously if I'd vote for Rudy. McCain is who I'd vote for but he is not going to make the ticket.
