i'm going to go as far and say if it was between the simpsons and family guy, i would choose family guy. I still like the simpsons (it's just a classic)...but i enjoy family guy a little more.

Every time I watch Family Guy now I think about the South Park episode about it and how totally true it is. I just can't get over it...

Futurama is funny in it's own way, but the family guy writers are just pure genious. The one where Peter gets caught in the girls locker room after "hiding" behind a small piece of wood he's holding... I was rolling!

American Dad... not too fond of it at all... but it's had good parts.

The South Park episode made Family Guy look dumb by making fun of its "over-randomness" I'm not a South Park fan, but they did drag Family Guy through the mud pretty good.

That's what makes Family Guy so great... it's the "over-randomness" with the weird flashbacks and the "Like the time I..." stories.

That's exactly the reason the show was brought back from cancellation. If Trey and Parker don't like it, no sweat off my back though. I think those two struck it rich with a dumb idea.

South Park is such a funny show because they actually tackle current events and mock societal trends and other stupid shit like that. family guy was made for random laughs. That, and thanks to adult swim, I've seen every episode easily over 4 times. Gets old after a while.

there are a lot of older episodes where the 'remember the time when' flashbacks are funny, but in alot of the newer episodes, half of the flashbacks are seriously forced into the show, and more often than not they aren't that funny and go on for FAR to long. There was a day when Family Guy would have had my vote, but I don't think I've liked one episode since they've brought it back as much as I used to like the old episodes. Those episodes and Adult Swim are the reason it was brought back. Which is the case with Futurama as well... hopefully their new episodes will be good.
