Funerals

Well, I have to go to a funeral today. First one I have been to since my grandfather died which was over a decade ago.

I hate funerals Is it wrong of me to say I don't wan't to go? Like I barely know the guy. Guess I am going out of respect to the dude and to help support the family I suppose.

Nonetheless, still going to be a very uncomfortable day.

Attending funerals is one of my least favorite things. More often than not visitation prior to the funeral is an option I usually choose. Close friends and family I really feel obligated to stay if I knew the deceased. Otherwise I am there just to support the grieving. Funerals become more of your routine in life as you age because your friends are usually around your age.

Well, was going to come back online yesterday when I got back but I was just to tired xD
It was so crowded. They could not have got a smaller place for so many people. Not to mention, after everyone started talking to everyone you could not even hear your own thoughts. Had to go out side a few times.

In our culture we cremate. It takes 3-4 hours (because we they use wood). It is really frustrating to wait for that long

Funerals are bittersweet for me. In a way it brings a family together that might not have seen each other in a long time and we get to remember the good times with our loved ones that passed. But then again they're super depressing, and it can be hard if you didn't really know the person who passed.
