This was on facebook this morning along with a picture of the child.
The MPD is asking for assistance in locating 10-year-old Courtney Jones. She was last seen yesterday afternoon leaving her home on the 700 block of E. Patton Ave. Courtney is 4'9" and weights 130 pounds. If you have any information about the whereabouts of Courtney Jones, call the Montgomery Police desk at 241-2532 or the criminal investigations division at 625-2831.
Please share this post.

About an hour later this is posted:
UPDATE: Missing Montgomery girl found safe. MPD confirm that Courtney Jones spent the night at a friend's house. Her friend's mother saw Courtney's picture on the news this morning and called the police to tell them Courtney was at her home.
As a parent I always knew where my kids were even as teenagers I was fairly certain of their whereabouts. At driving age they got cell phones so I could reach them. Someone needs to take a hard look at the child's parents.

i had a friend post a pic of a little girl on FB yesterday. she said she found this little girl walking around neighborhood in just a diaper. she called the police. apparently the mom was asleep, walked outside to smoke, then realized the police were knocking door to door about her child!

If my child was playing with friends and it was dark and they were not home I would have been walking the neighborhood, knocking on doors and calling the parents of my child's friends.

I feel for you, Staci.

I remember when I was three and lived on twenty acres of trees and there were some parts of the property that had sink holes on it. I wandered off chasing a cat once and got lost. My mom had told my dad repeatedly to cover up all the sink holes or baracade them and dad had procastinated. She took a rifle and pointed it at my dad and told him to go get me and don't come back without me or she'd shoot him. Dad went after me calling my name, I kept walking and finally Dad hollar "STOP WALKING!". So I did and he found me. He carried me back and I remember him look real serious and Mom greeting us with a rifle and not knowing why..... Years later she told me about that.

As a parent I always made my daughters friends call their parents to tell them they would stay 1) for dinner 2) over for a movie or late 3) for the night.. If those conditions were not met and will not be met by future kids who will visit my son, no staying over.. My house, My rules..

That's bad.. At that age the child should never be left unsupervised.. :mad

So sorry for you..

I never put my ex through that shit.. I told her, best we remain on good terms than put the kids through hell.. Today we are much better off, the kids are happy and everyone is a winner..

I always felt the kids suffer a heck more than the stress parents do that time we go to court.. For them it will seem like eternity and the harm may never really be totally known. Lawyers are the biggest winners in all this.. I have never seen a couple come out of court with more money yet.. Someone has to have lost and yes one may have some money but at the expense of the other and the kids pay for this somehow.. So sad..

Utility crews from Alabama travelled to New Jersey to help with the power outtages. They were told their help was not welcomed since they are not union. There is some symbolism here about being in the dark or cursing the darkness.

Happens more than you think...and sometimes more than once w/ the same child.
