To drag out this analogy for examination:

We're no talking about America so much as the federal gov't. The gov't is not an umemployed couple so much as a rich heiress living off a trust fund, recklessly spending it dry and mortgaging the entire family estate ... three times.

Afghanistan is a baby? A baby has no responsibility and no means of protection or survival. A special needs baby has little or no hope of ever becoming self sufficient. Adults have a moral obligation to take care of babies, which translates into a permanent obligation when it comes to special needs babies. We have no obligation to coddle, feed, and clothe Afghanistan for the rest of time. The original mission was to take out the Taliban gov't. That's done.

It's time to go. Let someone else adopt this delinquent.
