Did you view that video and percieve it as the FOX host championing the middle class?

Did you find the FOX host professional or even remotely rational?
yeah that is one guy

every time I turn on FOX news they're going on and on about the merit of being middle class actually

Ever wonder why our anti-middle class members keep parroting the same irrational talking points over and over again?
I'm curious where you got your orders to post this, since I'm damn sure you didn't ferret this out yourself.

This guy's got some irrational talking points of his own.

Here's the original blog he wrote for the Huffington Post, that bastion of fair balance. :sarcasm

Unlike you talking point parrots, I do actually "ferret" out all info I post. "Ferret", lol...Boortz uses that word a lot. What time does his show come on in San Antonio Accountable?

It was rhetoric to be sure, but it was far more rational than the FOX anchors rant.

Here's an excerpt from Graysons opinion piece:

.......... the things that make you a member of the middle class in America:

A job.

A home.

A car.

The chance to see a doctor when you are sick.

A pension or retirement account.

Social Security and Medicare.

And we've seen them replaced by endless war, falling home values, no pensions, lower wages, and now what Karl Marx called a "reserve army of the unemployed" -- to keep wages down forever.

Even after only two years in office, as one out of 435 in the House, I can point to a lot of things that I did to preserve, protect and expand the middle class in America, and to help those of us who were falling through the cracks.

I look at our so-called leaders on the other side of the aisle, and I see nothing like that. Only a perverse delight in eliminating programs that help my fellow Americans in need. They'll lead us, all right -- they'll lead us straight to ruin.

The next time you see one of them -- at a town hall meeting, in their plush offices, or just on the street -- ask them this: "What have you done to help the people? Answer me that!"

So, Accountable, what do you find irrational about those statements?

Spin it however you wish.

The thing that struck me is that the graphic they put up misquoted his blog:
Having a job
Owning a home
Owning a car
Having quality health care available and affordable
Having a pension

  • "A job" is the same as "having a job" but
  • "A home" does not necessarily mean "Owning a home" as the graphic listed. Many middle-class people live their entire lives without owning a house or even wanting to own one. Granted, owning a home is part of that much-vaunted American Dream, but middle-class renters are no less middle-class for being savvy enough to avoid property taxes.
  • "A car" generally means "owning a car"
  • "The chance to see a doctor when you are sick" was not controversial enough, so they rephrased it to "Having quality health care available and affordable." Cynical & dishonest.
  • "A pension or retirement account" was trimmed down to "Having a pension," as if Grayson were advocating requiring all employers provide pensions. It took me a bit of searching to find that blog. Most people wouldn't go to the trouble and would not have a complete picture as a result.
  • The graphic apparently didn't have space for the last bit: "Social Security and Medicare." I'm sure it was just a simple oversight. :sarcasm
So one has to wonder why Grayson didn't point any of this out. Why did he come on FBN (not Fox News) when he knew the audience he would be facing (Youtube had several vids of him facing this same host). He was a one-term congressman. He craves notoriety (my opinion, but it's pretty obvious) and is willing to go through quite a bit of humiliation in its pursuit.

This was a dog & pony show for the few people that 1) even have FBN and 2) can be arsed to watch it.

For someone who says he does not like Republican's, you (reply 13) I don't remember you ever criticizing them unless it's along the lines of they (GOP and Dems) are all alike. Most of the time you (Accountable) are after liberals. ;)

Is Faux a worthy news source? I say NINE! How about u? :)

Same as I percieve you my friend. ;)

You're not really surprised that FOX would misquote a Democrat are you?

So one has to wonder why Grayson didn't point any of this out.

He couldn't get a word in edgewise, lol. Eric Bolling overtalked him repeatedly. Grayson just seemed to say "fuck it" and let Bolling ramble on.

It was still a typical FOX show. FOX is more than 50% tabloid type entertainment. Very little on FOX can pass for actual news. Grayson actually handled himself quite well considering how shrill Bolling behaved. Bollings behavior was humiliating - Grayson seemd to be amused by it.

Why was Grayson on FOX? Ever known any politician that didn't crave the spotlight?

Bolling is pretty far out there. Did you know he's a birther? FOX Business news? Whatever Bolling does, it has nothing to do with news, business or otherwise.

That was pretty pitiful. I wish somebody had the time to take all of these stories and check their sources. You can bet your ass a lot of them would be just like this one. But again, that was FBN, Fox Business Network. I don't get it on my DishNetwork or on my cable service before that. It wasn't Fox News, and Fox News is a brand name, much like Patriot Act. I expect the 6 o'clock news on the local Fox channel is as dependable as the 6 o'clock news on any other channel. Watching people get up in arms about these talk shows as if they even claimed to be news is as funny and disappointing as watching people get upset when you say pro wrestling isn't real ... or watching John try to spin the Grayson interview into something respectable. :jk

Yeah that was an opinion show, your right. I just don't see MSNBC hosts going to the extreme that this guy, who could not even figure out what tax he was criticizing did.

He certainly was working awful hard.
lol.gif

He's a regular on Fox's Saturday morning business segment, but he's commenting, not hosting.
