Found out yesterday

A friend and fellow tennis player has Parkinson's disease. He is only 48 and has three sons. His oldest and my youngest did sports together for years and Mark and I have competed and worked together for the last 15 years. He is a good guy and we attend church together.

He is a very good tennis player. Better than I am. We just hit for about an hour yesterday. He had to stop a few times. His meds make him nauseous.

that really sucks Fred, my grandma had parkinsons and its sad to see the things that she struggles with now, even holding a cup sometimes but it is definitly workable just a little bit of a struggle and you have to be patient *hugs*

Sorry to hear it. My Auntie has Parkinson's, in the early stages really and she still manages to do many things without difficulty. Just tell him to not let it get him down (easier said than done i know)

I've had a few family members suffer that disease...and much like Springsteen they were able to do a lot of daily things without difficulty. Hopefully, they'll keep after it and research has been rather promising lately! Still, a tough thing to have to deal with...sorry to hear.

Last night I learned another friend who is only 50 died of a heart attack. Jeff was a gentle giant of a man who loved to work with children and children were drawn to him. He taught both of my kids in church when they were young.
