I am thinking about buying an ADULT air rifle. One of those which will push a pellet over 1000 fps. Do any of you own one of these? Suggestions as to brand or particulars you would look into for one of these?

I looked at the Big Cat 1250 in Bass Pro Shop. I am thinking about it. Several of the airguns BPS had were really heavy for an air rifle.

What do you want an airgun for, Fred? Just out of curiosity.

I own a decent one I have used to dispense a few jays with but we are starting to have an issue with squirrels. I think I can solve some of that without alarming the neighbors by shooting my .22 rifle.

Since you already have a pellet gun, why not get a 22 caliber air rifle?

You can pick them up pretty cheap and with a hell of a lot more knock down power than a pellet.

Here is one at walmart for $150 with scope.

It has a velocity of 950 feet per second, but since it's a 22 caliber round, it has a lot more killing power. I have taken down full grown ground hogs at 40 yards with a similar gun.

then you could always skin them and fry them up :)

I went with the Remington Vantage 1200. I plan on sighting it in this weekend. I did hit a can at about 15 steps. I will zero it this weekend.
