I have usually prefered folding knives to fixed blades but here are my fixed blade hunting knives.
These are oldest to newest left to right. The oldest is at least 42 or 43 years old.

I've always preferred Fixed blades to folding, most of my Knives were stolen though, I've only got a couple left, all folding, I'll take a picture of them in a minute.

Fixed blades guarantee you'll be ready for a knife fight. Bring a gun to a gunfight though instead of a knife. Just saying.

Knives are not just weapons Noose, they are tools that can be used for many, MANY different things.

the only 3 knives I've got right now :(

the one on the left was my grandpa's, he died before I was born.

In some ways that's why I think they are better than guns, since there is more than one way to use them rather than only weapons. I agree. Sweet looking knives both of you have.

yeah, a gun is made for killing and only killing, whereas a blade an actually save a life, or be used for something as simple as cutting a piece of string.

I really like the feel of fixed blade when using it. The folders are just really convenient. Especially those with locking blades.

I love it too, they just feel so SOLID, and I will not buy a folder without a locking blade.

That is a form of what is refered to as a "Stockman's Knife" Usually stockman's are three blades.

yeah it's got three on it, I took it when I came here from Oregon, it was just sitting in a china cabinet and with all the shit that going on I didn't want to leave it there to get lost or something.

All of those fixed blades I displayed are shaving sharp. I wished I was handier than I am at sharpening.

I own a small version of that knife which is 2-3/4" long. It is a handy size for somethings.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Fixed blades are always ready to be used without the need to unfold them, but a pain to easily conceal. Folding knives are so much portable. Ones with locked blades are as close as you can get to having a fixed knife.

I don't conceal knives if I carry one on me, if you're thinking of self defense someone is less likely to mess with you if they see a big fixed blade on your belt.
