It’s only been a few months since all of the Cloverfield viral madness quieted down to a silent murmur. Well, J.J. Abrams just won’t stand for any quietness on that front.

Today, two photos from Cloverfield 2 appeared on the Internet. Is this the sound of the Cloverfield 2 Viral marketing campaign roaring to life? It just might be. Take a look at these black & white photos that seem to show a bunch of baby Cloverfield monsters scurrying across the ocean floor.

See the pictures and read more about Cloverfield 2 at First ‘Cloverfield 2′ Photos !?! - FilmoFilia

A bit late on the news, but I'm definately hyped for Cloverfield 2.

I just hope that they got the message that the shaky cam effect ruined the movie for many people (including me). Theaters even put up signs warning people they might get motion sickness... The first one did have some creepy moments.

i never saw this movie until last month, and tbh it was pretty decent... though it would have been much better if there had been some bewbage!

I think it made this movie better, and it wouldn't have been as good without the effect. Just because a few people didn't like it doesn't mean it isn't a good effect. It helps make Cloverfield and the events more believable, as well as hiding what few errors there were in the CGI. They are saying Cloverfield 2 will either take place at the same time as Cloverfield, and have the same effects, or it will be a new movie that explains the origins and whatnot, and therefore be in regular film style. Then again, they're also saying they may just aim for a completely new style of filming that a lot of other people don't use.

Actually, I think the lack of nudity helped this movie a lot. It would have been sad to see yet another movie resort to getting fans by using nudity. That's one reason I love SAW so much. They don't need nudity to get people interested. And trust me, this movie is much better when it's seen in theaters.

I have seen several movies where a hand-type cam (whatever u call it) was used to create a good effect, for example, 28 Weeks later. The effect can be toned down to give the effect and tell the same story with the same emphasis, without making people sick.

I just saw the first one last week. I get horrible motion sickness when it comes to watching stuff but it didn't bother all that much.

And I understand that, but with a movie like Cloverfield, a steady view, while still being hand-held, would make it seem less realistic. It'd be pretty damn hard to hold a steady camera while having missiles and bullets fired next to your head, and a giant monster stomping around the city.
