ARGH!!! We live in a condo with a lady above us. Constantly we hear bangs and thuds on our ceiling. It's enough to vibrate our walls down here. And last night it didn't stop until after midnight, but then it starts again at 6:30am this morning waking me up in bed! I know she has her grandchildren there, but that's beside the point. It shouldn't be happening!

I will NEVER live somewhere that has someone above or below me again. I sleep light unless I have in earplugs .. and repetative noises drive me bat shit crazy, especially if I was asleep when it started.

She has not stopped, either. Hope she's enhoying a nice, peaceful sleep at 1AM, when I decide to pound on the ceiling with my broom.

the last place I lived that I had upstairs neighbors (was a house turned into a condo (my part) and 2 1 bedroom apartments (one behind mine and one above) .. the girls who lived upstairs had a healthy sex life.

One night I had finally had enough .. so I went down to the basement and grabbed an old oriental rug I wasn't using .. drug it up the stairs, bange don her door, and told her if she didn't put it under her bed .. I was going to beat on the ceiling for as long as she beat on the floor.

She looked quite embarrassed and her BF reluctantly drug the rug inside .. but I never heard her metal frame bed skooting/banging across the ceiling again.

You have to be careful when banging the ceiling tho .. a broom will dent the ceiling and then you'll have to pay for it when you move out.

You need something that is wider .. so it doens't make divits in your ceiling LOL .. that is of course, if you CARE that you make holes in the ceiling LOL

*giggle* I have a washcloth on top of it, held on with a hair elastic. I've flipped houses before, I know what I'm doing when it comes to beating ceilings and drywall. lolz.

Call the condo manager and report her .. and if that doesn't work .. I have called the cops on neighbors that refuse to STFU, after being politely asked to cease and desist, as well.

I took my camera and made a video (with sound) so that when the cops got there .. they could hear it for themselves (in case my neighbors stopped before they got there). I also sent a copy to the apt. manager .. when I lived in some apartments and had a noisy upstairs neighbor.

I've had bad experiences with living in places with "neighbors" .. I won't do it again, ever. It's why I live with my parents now .. because I can't afford a house on my own and I refuse to pay to live somewhere I can afford .. but be aggravated to death on a daily basis.

Nooo, we can't. These are all privately owned. We'd have to take it to the police and file a noise ordinance. And even then, we'd need proof, really. It sucks. We are moving. I dunno what we were thinking about moving in a place that was downstairs.

Rent a house .. you can usually find pretty nice ones for rent .. they are just usually high .. but they are SO worth it! You're paying for peace and quiet LOL

Nope...size means everything in this area. And since it's so over populate, we have to worry about traffic in the mornings and evenings. If we went about 25 minutes, it would probably take us 2 hours to get to work. And that's where you'll see nice houses for rent in the 1500. range.
Here, you'd pay double that for a stupid, shitty small house. and THAT is definitely not worth. I'm kind of a snob about what I live in.
