Somebody brought up the subject(In class today) of people having "soul mates" and it being destiny and everybody having their own fate and all that shit, and it got me thinking about the whole free will debate and everything.
Do you think it really exists?
Referring back to the debate of omniscience vs free will, if fate and/or destiny does exist, then obviously our whole lives are planned out, disproving free will. But when I brought this topic up at lunch today, this kid was freaking out and shit, and saying things like, "No! We do have destiny, but free will allows us to choose our own destiny!". Or something like that.
Personally, I don't really think that everybody's entire life is all planned out down to the very last detail, because it sounds ridiculous. If you think fate/destiny exists, then basically, that's saying, "Well, God wanted me to wear this nail-polish today, or put that bra on, or get that speeding ticket", or whatever it may be.
