Fact or Faked Paranormal Files- New reality show on SciFi Channel. Wife and I have watched for the last two nights. This show receives movies or stories of mysteries, Lockness type creature in a Pennsylvania lake, ghosts, ufos, myths, creatures, etc.
Most interesting was the Beast of Dartmoore (U.K.) a very interesting but blurry movie showing something fairly large and black creature bounding through the moors. The movie looks like something similar to a lion running except it seems more slinky and it bounds as it runs more than a lion does. Any of our U.K. members heard of this?
My number one complaint about this show is that they spend all this time and money to get to a location and then they spend about a day total investigating, not nearly enough time to adequately investigate imo, and half of the time spent debunking the applicable legend. The most stupid thing they've done, if you want to believe this could be real is go diving at night for this large 20 foot creature called "Raystown Ray in a Pennsylvania lake and go out in the moors at night looking for this large lion like creature. I wonder if they were armed at all? Anyway, they spend a day checking things out and then call it a quits, resulting in most of their cases get labeled, "undetermined". Of the 4 things we've seen investigated, 3 were labeled undetermined, and one (3 triangular lights over El Cahon, CA), because they could duplicate it with a balloon and flares as a fake. The problem is that it really does not prove anything. The show has potential, but based on their shooting schedule, I don't think as a rule, they will find much of anything.
This also reminds me of aother SciFi Channel show called Destination Truth that rarely locates anything because one day is all they can afford too. I mean, they went all the way to Machu Piccho looking for ghosts and only spent one evening there. Then they try to build up nothing into something. with lots of atmospheric scary music. These shows are hard core entertainment, not serious investigations, and yes REALITY TV. Sigh.
