Facebookers?

Blah blah blah semantics hoo ha.

I don't normally follow all these things and be sheep-like, but I did change my profile pic, just once, I wanted to get away with having a cartoon pic as my picture. I thought it was cool watching everyone's pic change. I think the pedophile thing is just a rumour someone started, as usual, for attention....as usual....

Wow, that's so incredibly mature. Would you like it if people started going around using your disability as a derogatory term? Of course you'll just say it wouldn't bother you, in order to further your point. Or what if people said to posters here that were acting stupid that they were being "dana"?

Because that teaches the tolerance people are striving for...:sarcasm

Screw your political correctness and claiming my intelligence is diminished by certain words I choose to use.

Did I ever claim your intelligence was diminished? Nope. I provided an offensive example to prove a point. I don't think that people should do that, but the point was how would you feel if it was the case?

Also, I'm about the furthest thing from politically correct that there is. But there are some things that just aren't appropriate, in any setting.

I didn't actually take part in this, as I would rather, if I cared about child abuse, give money to the charity who prevents it. As for the thought that it might be a paedophile group, it wouldn't surprise me, it is the internet after all.

The original chain mail I saw was this: "Change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood - and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday (December 6th), there should be no human faces on... Facebook, but an invasion of memories!"

But since then I've seen the ones about child violence, the NSPCC and some other child abuse charities.

I changed my picture then realised me and another friend had the same picture. I made him change his though... Even though he might have had it first.

i dont fall into those facebook 'games' as i like to call them. they're annoying IMO

and i bet that majority of the people who changed their picture did it to bring back old memories of their childhood and favorite cartoons! i even had people posting in their updates "i love seeing the cartoon pictures! brings back good memories and makes me want to be a kid again" and the like.

Child abuser repents after friend changes Facebook profile photo to a Thundercat

lion-o.jpg
A long-time child abuser this morning spoke of his repentant nature after seeing a friend change his profile photo to Lion-O from the Thundercats.
The change came along with millions of others doing their bit to prevent child abuse by posting photos of cartoon characters as their profile pictures.
The former child abuser who wished to remain nameless said, “I’m surprised no-one thought to do it before to be honest. I mean, it just makes sense, doesn’t it? Of course seeing a photo which children would really like would make me stop really liking children.”
Another told us, “I was thinking of smacking my stepson around the head, but then I saw this photo of Muttley from the Wacky Races and thoughts, nah, this is a bit wrong, I don’t think I’ll bother after all.”
“I dread to think how much I might have hurt him had it not been for all the cartoon pictures. Bravo, the lot of you. Really.”
Facebook Cartoon profiles

One Facebook user has faced backlash after choosing to post a picture of Spit The Dog, rather than the obligatory cartoon.
A former friend wrote on their wall, “What is he playing at? Does he WANT all these kids to be abused, is that it?”
“Everyone knows Spit The Dog is a puppet, not a cartoon. It’s all very suspicious, and anyone who doesn’t change their profile picture to a cartoon should be put on a register of some sort if you ask me.”
We spoke to a non-moron who said, “If you really want to help stop child abuse, how about you spend five minutes away from looking at photos of your ex-girlfriend online and write a cheque to the NSPCC instead, hmm?”
The Facebook community is expected to eradicate Malaria later this week by posting photos of the best places they’ve ever been on holiday.

Same, I just thought it was an attempt to get rid of all human photos on facebook for a while.

This child abuse thing is all news to me.
