Yes it is good to always share whatever we can with our extended family. They are still part of us and can really be helpful to us as well

Extended family members are part of our lineage and we don't have to alienate them or make them feel less important. Check up on them and assist the ones that you can establish closeness with. Family bonds are unbroken.

Your idea to communicate with family members after the family get-together is very welcoming. The fact that you are trying to reconnect and acknowledge their attendance at the event proves that your efforts are valuable even if you do not share frequent conversations.

When it comes to extended family, I believe the same principle applies, everyone has the right to make their own relationship choices. If a family member is in a polyamorous relationship, it wouldn't change my view of them negatively. What matters most is that they are happy, healthy, and respectful in their relationships. Just like with close family, open communication and mutual respect are key, and as long as that is present, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

Extended family can be both a blessing and a challenge. I’ve experienced their support during tough times but also occasional drama. Staying respectful, setting boundaries, and focusing on positive relationships helps keep it manageable and rewarding.

My extended family was built on strong family values of bonding and being a pillar for each other. We are very large but we connect on a very personal level. Social media has made it easier to keep up with extended family members.
