Wasn't I just bitching about the hypocrisy of some of the "Moral Majority"? Here's another fine example:

(CNN) -- A jury in Arkansas convicted evangelist Tony Alamo on Friday of 10 federal counts of taking minors across state lines for sex, according to the court in the Western District in Arkansas.

He says it's a hoax....... I guess a jury convicted him w/no real evidence? I wonder if he thought that only happens to terrorists these days? Certainly not to American citizens.:24:

Tell your story walking preacher.

Another " good " Christian gone to hell in a handbasket.

Sad isn't it?

Religious figures accused of molesting children?

This must be like the first time this has ever happened.

Sadly, it's too frequent. What that says exactly, I'm not sure? Absolute power corrupts absolutely?

Someone get me some gasoline and a pack-o-matches cause I wanna burn this mo-fo.

Ryder, this scumbag isn't worth you going to jail over.

Tho, if I were Queen, I'd certainly give the kids' parents a few minutes alone w/this scum to do with as they wish.

that was odd

Not necessarily. Child abusers bring out the desire to deliver karma in all of us.:spank:

Just another of the many fine examples of the Immoral Majority. Religious beliefs makes people very susceptible to charlatans because for religion in general there is such a low standard of independent judicial thinking involved. It's easy to be suckered literally and physically. :)

That's why I've never been a big proponent of 'Organized Religion'. I don't get checking your brain at the door. Which is required w/some of the branches of some faiths.

Tho, good ole King Falwell was one of the reasons I went online and became 'ordained'. Because I was determined to live a better example than he had. Besides, I have to make up for pulling the eyes off snails as a little kid.(

I remember one time I caught a tv ad of his regarding these tapes he'd made about finding salvation with God. God had 'told' Jerry to let these tapes go for the low price of something like $39.95.. I emailed him and said God 'told' me he should be giving them out for free. I never got a response. Not that I was actually expecting one.:24:

It's funny how 'Free Will' has been twisted into 'you'll do as I say'. pppffffttttt......

Religion, like government, needs the bright light of Truth shined around in every corner to illuminate the rats in the corn. Pardon me if I don't hold my breath on that one.

I did. It's quite easy and legal. Tho not to preach. To marry people and stuff like that.

I would never presume to speak for any God or Goddess.

Tho, perhaps I should preach? At least the children would be safe with me.

How many hoops did you have to jump through to get ordained- Ten question test? ;) I find it interested that apparently there is a low standard to be ordained (unless you tell me otherwise) without any concrete beliefs, qualifies you to marry people. I'm not besmirching your integrity, but the integrity of the process. It's a good aspect to ponder- what qualifies anyone to preach about the big picture of our existence and relationship with the here-after? :)

Speaking of preaching, I'd love to find a local spiritual group, that vigorously "discusses" the possibilities of life after death with no traditional religion prejudices.

Not a good week for religion. Just had a Catholic priest, this week, extradited back to Britain from the USA to face charges of molesting a bunch of little kids.

Unitarian Universalists.

:homo: Universalists are the most open-minded and tolerant of others. And, as far as I know, have not been accused of molesting children. Ever.

As for besmirching my integrity, I have none so besmirch away :D I didn't even have to answer any questions. Just swear that I would try to walk a path of good. Which I do indeed do every day.

I figured if Ole King Falwell and Pat Robertson can do it, so can I. Plus, I don't sell SnakeOil. I sell MajicWater. Big damn difference. I, unlike them (RIP Jerry), don't preach hate and intolerance. I try to set a better example than they. That's probably why I'm not making money from it. I have no desire to preach pioty while raking it in on the back of good folks and their bread money. Those men and their hate is what convinced me to do it.

Well, I guess I do have intolerance. Of them. And any preacher who abuses little kids or any Cardinal that looks the other way and moves some sick fuck around instead of putting him in jail where he belongs. Coming from a religion that burned people that disagreed with them at one point. It makes me want to :puke::fing27

Boy, when Jesus comes back, I'm glad I don't have their Karma.:thumbup

i was puzzled at the charges - taking minors accross state boundaries to have sex?

why the need to emphasise the cross border, surely each state has it's own laws that he broke, unless of course ( now i think of it) they can double his crime by proving he broke the laws of multiple states

dont mind me I think i get it

anyhow a scumbag that deserves to rot
