Anyone watching?? Yes, it's a bit shit and a big cheese fest but It's one of my guilty pleasures! Had to watch this year with Jedward representing us too!!

Jedward will obviously win.

UK won't, and it's not just the eastern bloc thing either, Blue are just plain shit.

I think France are favourites at the moment, would be nice to finish anywhere near the top though, we've not had a good few years. I think Blue are 3rd favourites to win

Can't believe Jedward got through. I thought Ireland couldn't get any worse than when they entered Dustin the turkey but the've proved me wrong. Think the bookies have got it massively wrong, the've got Ireland as second favourite and UK as fourth favourite. I expect both coutries to finish somewhere near the bottom. I guess we'll see on Saturday.

I recall couple years ago we were supposedly gonna participate (lebanon) but then luckily withdrew because of Israel's participation. it's a massively nauseating cheesefest.

I think you're wrong Mr.Parka, the song is very catchy and imo is one of the better songs in the competition. Jedward are likeable and energetic and have a very good chance of finishing near the top. I don't think they'll win but I think they'll finish in the top 10

Jedward likable??? lol! You mean the same Jedward that got voted second in a poll of the people who annoyed us most last year? They cant sing to save their life and I think the voters will feel Ireland is taking the piss. Ireland are also one of the most unpopular countries in recent Eurovision contests in recent years so this wont help matters either.

I don't think people will think we're taking the piss at all. The song is very good(by Eurovision standards anyway) and is among the favourites to win. Yes, they're very likeable and full of enthusiasm as well, they've been getting nothing but positive publicity since their performance last night. And we may have been unpopular lately but not as unpopular as the UK

I think the UK will do shit too as I've already said. At least we're trying to improve our chances though by entering a group who are well known across the world. No one out side of Britain and Ireland has heard of Jedward.

Personally I think Jedwards song is better then Blues song. And if Europe really thought we were taking the piss, we wouldn't have got through to the finals last night, remember Britain and Ireland (where they're known) couldn't vote last night in the semi final but we still got through.

I heard a snippet of Frances entry, that guy has a fantastic voice, it's very different for Eurovision too though I'm not sure if that will increase or decrease his chances

Someone told me it's quite classical? Being different usually improves a countries chances like when that heavy metal band Lordi or something won it. Then again, it will probably be won by an obscure entry from an Eastern European country that didn't exist 30 years ago.

Yeah, the guy singing is a tenor. And yeah, the odd time being different is good but it's mostly the more main stream pop type songs win it.

How random, Azerbiajan won and my mate is there on business at the moment. The girl singer also lives 10 - 15 miles down the road from me.
I enjoyed this moment while it lasted, has been a while.



Other than that, thought this one from Switzerland was the best of a quite boring lot, at least Moldova entered into the spirit of things with their stupid hats and unicycling angel and gave me a laugh. Greece somehow managed to do the impossible - put out something even more shit than Jedward.
