Eleven Islamic terrorist suspects have been arrested in Europe in the past 48 hours – eight suspects were arrested in raids in Copenhagen, Denmark, and three were taken into custody in Germany. According to Danish authorities, the individuals arrested there were planning terrorist attacks and were “producing an unstable explosive in a densely populated area.” Jakob Scharf, head of the Danish intelligence service, commented, “With the arrests we have prevented a terror attack. …Those arrested are militant Islamists with a connection to a leading Al Qaeda person. According to our assessment, there is a direct connection to Al Qaeda.” The intended target was not immediately known. In Germany, however, press reports suggest that the radical Muslims arrested there were planning “imminent” and “massive” strikes against the international airport in Frankfurt, Europe’s third busiest airport, as well as the U.S. and NATO base at Ramstein. According to one German official, the explosive materials involved in this terror plot, “would have enabled them to make bombs with more explosive power than the ones used in the London and Madrid bombings.” I’m sure it’s no coincidence that these “imminent” and “massive” attacks were being planned near the anniversary of the September 11th atrocities. But is it just a coincidence that jihadists in Europe and the U.S. appear to be targeting American military bases? Just months ago, a plot to attack our warriors at Fort Dix, New Jersey, was foiled. Two Egyptians, in the country on student visas, were indicted last week in Florida after having been caught “casing” a military base in South Carolina, where enemy combatants are being held. Police found explosives in the trunk of their car. Now we have the foiled plot against Ramstein. Clearly, our warriors are on the terrorist’s “top ten list,” and their intent is to send a shockwave through American public opinion that our troops are not safe anywhere, not on the battlefield and not even on secure military bases far away from the war zone.

I heard the news yesterday about all this.

It's a great thing that they have foiled those planned imminently, but not all terrorist cells can be foiled, so no-one can or shld be complacent.

If they are intent on 'marking the ocassion' as far as they are concerned, then there are more than likely more cells as we speak, in preparation for nxt wk.

The powers of a psychotic mind are dangerous.

I would still not call terrorists psychotic. They do have mental problems but I would not choose this one specially.

Well, maybe not psychotic, but couldn't think of any other extreme condition that I cld call it. Their minds are not normal as we all know, that's for sure.
