None of you know, but I'm a HUEG fan of Pink Floyd. In fact, they're my favorite band, and I tend to obsess over them. One memorable trait of The Floyd is the fact that a lot of their songs tend to tip over the 7 and 8 minute marker. In fact, they have plenty of songs over 10 minutes. And I love every second of these songs. So if you know any long awesome songs, go ahead and post 'em here. I'll share some of mine..from Pink Floyd and alike.

note, since most of them can't be on youtube, I'll try just give you the names of them.

My favorite, Pink Floyd - Dogs. Words can't describe how much I love this song, but is also from my favorite album "Animals." You'll just have to listen for yourself. It has great acoustic guitar, great electric guitar, and all the other instruments really run swell in this amazing song. I'll never get over this song, because of the great combination of musical instruments and lyrics.

Pink Floyd - Interstellar Overdrive. This song is just shy of the 10 minute marker, and it's a great trippy song with awesome guitar that it actually got in the Rolling Stone's top 100 greatest guitar songs. Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Rick Wright all came together perfectly on this masterpiece.

Pink Floyd - Echoes. I can't even begin to describe how awesome this song is. It's so powerful. The guitar is so elaborate, and the other instruments are just as mind blowing. You know that cold chill feeling you get when you listen to a great song? This song is guaranteed to make you feel that way over and over again. (But hey, all Pink Floyd songs do that for me..aside from Atom Heart Mother's album and The Final Cut..yuck.) This 16:30 song, or, another version off the album Meddles is closer to 20 minutes, never gets old.

The Doors - The Celebration of the Lizard. Woah, Jim Morrison does a great job combining his poetry with the brilliant instruments of the rest of the Doors band in this song..just like any other song they play. This song is approximately 18-20 minutes long if I remember right.

The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again. Such a great passionate song by The Who. But hey, all Who songs are great..except for "Real Good Lookin' boy."

Yeah, I like most of those you mentioned too.

Some other good ones by Zep are Achillies Last Stand, Kashmire, and No Quarter.

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell
Levellers - Julie
Don McLean - American Pie

By the Division Bell do you mean every song on that album ?

Rush - Anything considered long on Motion Pictures

For me personally:

Mayonaise by The Smashing Pumpkins (my absolute favorite song ever)
Cherub Rock by The Smashing Pumpkins
Zero by The Smashing Pumpkins
Ramble On by Led Zeppelin
Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash
Did My Time by Korn
Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Float On by Modest Mouse
The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground (perhaps a strange choice, but every time it comes on I wanna dance)

For me, that's almost any Pink Floyd album, whether it be with Syd Barrett, the "Roger Water's Era" or all the other bullshit eras that Pink Floyd has.

Fucking awesome! Have you ever seen them live? I have. I memory I will carry to my death. Echoes is aquatic, with the recreation of whale song and the ping of sonar.

Awesome!

I don't really like songs that exceed 6 minutes. sometimes they tend to get too repetitive. *shrug*

There is nothing repetitive about Echoes, or Tubular Bells, another at the top of my list. They are both symphonies in the classical sense. Multi-layered and with diverse instrumentation.

No, guys, I've never seen any of those bands live..I'm only 15. If only I could though..

And none of these long songs are repetitive at all. They're musical masterpieces with complex instruments and brilliance.
