English... I just heard you speak it!

Ah well, I'm sorry i brought this topic up.

You don't need to be sorry Dana - we each have very different tolerences with those speaking different languages. At least you weren't rude to them.

I am ok when it happens, but as was mentioned, if it happens to friends out with eachother, then it is a bit rude, but otherwise I don't mind.

You're entitled to an opinion. ;)

or hes getting his sons english up to scratch
Actually they both spoke English very well. Hell probably better then I do, and I have been doing it for over 32 years.

lazy to speak it? lol wow you shouldnt be calling anyone ignorant.

How about wanting to communicate with his son on a more personal basis? some people like myself talk to their kids in spanish as well as english because, lets face it being bilingual is a damn good quality to have, and even better to have it instilled in your kids as early as possible.
Well from my experience with the 2 guys he did seem too lazy to speak it. Your right who am I to call someone ignorant.

So I stand by lazy, but I will apologise for calling the man ignorant.

Ah well, I'm sorry i brought this topic up.
Don't be sorry man. It's better that this stuff is discussed, rather than just thought about in shame or whatever.

As hard as it is for me to understand, you DO get pissed off about this and therefore there is a reason for it... and I have heard many, many people say the same thing - so it is something that needs to be discussed.
