True martial artists rarely fight out of anger. How do practices like Aikido or Tai Chi teach calmness and emotional control beyond the mat?

I tried martial arts when I was in school but I hated it. However, I do understand how martial arts can balance your mental and emotional health, along with physical health.

I think arts like Aikido and Tai Chi train patience through repetition and mindfulness. Staying centered under pressure teaches you to respond, not react. The discipline carries into daily life, you learn that real strength lies in calm awareness, not aggression.

A martial artist has to be tough mentally. Mixed martial arts is a kind of sport which requires you to be tough mentally and physically as well. Perhaps practitioners of martial arts also practice meditation as well.
