He's cute hey? Thats his nose you can see on the left in the first pic. I could have hassled him and got a better pic, but didnt want to scare him anymore.

I LOVE echidnas. They curl up like a hedgehog to protect themselves too

Porcupine. No. Echidnas are mammals and lay eggs. (The only other mammal besides the platypus to do so.) They're also known as Spiny anteaters. A porcupine is a rodent.
All they have in common is their protective spines
