Do you observe it? If so, how?

I kind of like the Pagan traditions, which is where Easter originated:

http://www.nobeliefs.com/easter.htm

Oestre/Easter

The name Easter derived from the Saxon Eostre (a.k.a. Eastre). The ancient Saxons in Northern Europe worshiped the Goddess Oestre at the time of the Spring Equinox. The Goddess Easter represents the sunrise, spring-time and fertility, the renewal of life.

Pagan Anglo-Saxons made offerings of colored eggs to her at the Vernal Equinox. They placed them at graves especially, probably as a charm of rebirth. (Egyptians and Greeks were also known to place eggs at gravesites).

Only later did the Christians pilfer the name for themselves and graft their religion onto a pagan celebration.

The pagans of Easter celebrations did just that: celebrate. They produced an atmosphere of giving and happiness, a renewal of life. A time of sex and love. They had fun!

Good Friday and the Christian Easter, on the other hand, represents a time of morbid suffering, their minds filled with the horror of a tortured man dying on lumber for the selfish purpose of getting you into heaven, as long as you flatter God with your own insignificance and suffering. If you don't accept their beliefs, well, sorry, you go to Hell, a place of eternal torment.

The pagan Easter celebrates happiness and life. The Christian Easter consecrates suffering and death.

The pagan Easter celebrates a birthday. The Christian Easter solemnizes a funeral.

The pagans gave. The Christians sacrificed.

Fortunately Freethinkers have a choice of what to celebrate, believers don't.

I choose to celebrate the first day of spring on the day of the actual equinox, thank you

The only thing I ever liked about Easter was getting to wake up Easter morning and look for my always awesome Easter basket in the crazy ass places that the Easter Bunny left it.

Sunday morning, sunrise service out in one of the local town squares at 0700 (pre approved by the town of course LOL).

Man, talk about propaganda to move ones agenda:24:

God forbid one takes the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made as one of love and compassion.

I don't really observe it as an adult. When I was a kid, we would just have a nice Sunday dinner and we'd get easter eggs. That was about it.

We're a pretty typical English family, no Easter celebrations. Parents didn't celebrate it. Grandparents didn't celebrate it.

Sunday morning in the town park. All denominations welcome. Our minister gave the sermon, had to laugh, he still stuck with a joke at the beginning, one reason why I like him.

Easter for me is a time to look forward to warmer weather..... flowers growing..... trees budding..... new life all around....

When I think of Easter, I think of a delicious Ham dinner.... chocolate bunnies to be eaten..... family coming together.... watching children excitedly looking for and finding their very own Easter baskets loaded with goodies.

When I was a child, Easter also involved going to Sunday Services with my parents and siblings. I loved dressing up and wearing a fancy hat and carrying a fancy purse and wearing new shoes and a dress. Other than that.... religion was often times very confusing as a child. What am I saying.... it still is. :)

Oh... and I like to say Happy Easter. So... Happy Easter! :)

IMO, one of the primary ways Christianity corrupted itself is when it turned Pagan Festivals like Eater and Christmas into Christian events just to pander to the Pagans... human beings trying to control one another, the hallmark of human based religion.
