Droid 4 or Razr Maxx

Anyone have one or the other?
I've been weighing the pros and cons of both and even though the Maxx has a longer battery, everything else seems very competitive. I love that the 4 has the slide out keyboard.
I don't think I'm ready to go all touch screen for texting....I can't stand it for texting.

If you have it, what do you think? What are some pros and cons you've noticed while owning it?

And no an Iphone isn't even an option I want something 4G.

I have MyTouch 4g, and I love it! I'm with you on the slide out... it's why I got it and not an Iphone cause I hate touch texting. Plus is has a ridiculously awesome camera.

I would think that the slideout keyboard would be troublesome, after a few years of use, because the contacts would get tarnished and not make good connection. I got a Samsung Rugby Smart about a month ago. It's all touch screen. I'm getting the hang of texting with it. Still like my old Blackberry keyboard better.

Slide outs haven't caused me any troubles. Plus I don't keep a phone for a few years usually lol.

Well, both have the same processing speed, though the Razr Maxx has slightly larger memory (emphasis on slightly). The Razr Maxx is thinner and lighter (due to the Droid 4 having a full QWERTY keyboard). The Razr Maxx has a larger screen (4.3") plus Super AMOLED display, which is more saturated, versus the Droid 4's 4" LCD display. Both have 8MP rear facing cameras, 1.3MP front facing cameras and 1080p video capture. The Razr Maxx has larger storage capacity, and though both can be extended to a max of 32GB via microSD, The Razr Maxx is designed to allow for easier access to the microSD slot on the side, whereas the Droid 4, you must remove the battery cover to get to it. And of course, the Razr Maxx has a much longer battery life.

Personally, the Razr Maxx is a no brainer for me because I've never liked physical keyboards, but if you really must have that physical keyboard, go with the Droid 4.

Why does it have to be 4G?

Just because a phone "has" 4G does not mean the phone will be working within your 4G expectations.

I do a lot of work with my phone, don't have 4G and it does everything just fine.

Touch screen texting has come a long way. I have the droid pro with a keyboard. Nowdays theres an app called slide, or swipe or something like that. its easier then even typing on a keyboard

On my Droid it's not an app, but a function you can activate if you so wish.

Thanks for the info, but you must not have noticed that I've already done the comparisons and know the differences. I was asking for people's opinions that have used the phones themselves.

Why do you HAVE to have 4G, Shey? I'm just curious.

I mean, my iPhone 4 isn't 4G, and it works awesome. 4G seems kinda overhyped for the average user. The difference in my experience isn't like from Dial up to DSL, it's more like from DSL to Cable.

Faster connection to play games or watch movies? I'm just curious. I'm with Darrell on this one only because I use my phone a lot for work, even logging into "secure" sites with it, and never seemed to have a problem and being with some people that do have a "4G" phone, the difference really never has stuck out to me watching them use their phone for the same applications as I do. I'm just trying to figure out what this faster connection is good for.

Yeah, I've seen guys use both of those 4G phones compared to my old droid X and I didn't see any difference

I haven't read the entire thread, so I apologize if someone already mentioned it...but if you're going to go 4G, check first and make sure that you area has full capabilities. The city I live in has a lot of issues w/ Verizon phones b/c the transition to 4G isn't complete in our area. I'd hate for you to get a 4G phone and be disappointed w/ the service.

I have the Droid RAZR... not the Maxx, but I still love it. I used to be a keyboard texter, but the screen is large enough on the RAZR that it's easy to use. It does take a little getting used to, but so does everything new. I'd go for the RAZR simply for the screen size.
